New Baby Boy!

Luke Daniel Shuler, son of Becky and Joseph Shuler

Just wanted to share that we had our baby! Luke Daniel Shuler was born on March 20, 2010 at 2:55 a.m. He weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and measured 19,9 inches long. He had a rocky start after the emergency c-section, but quickly recovered and is healthy and strong. We feel so blessed to have him in our family. He was welcomed home with love by his adoring older siblings Matthew, Jonathan and Juliette. He is now a month old. We are looking forward to his baby blessing on May 16th.

We're Expecting!

I don't know if anyone reads this blog or not, but I just wanted to share that the Joseph and Becky Shuler family is going to have a new addition in March 2010! We are expecting our fourth and are thrilled. I'll update when we find out the gender of the baby. We should know around November 4th. Hope everyone has a happy fall!

Jen's Belly

So I don't know If you all know that my sister, Jen Kleinbaum is pregnant! She's due May 7th! I'm so excited to be an Aunt again and I thought some of you might be excited by this news too! Jen and her husband Scott have decided they don't want to find out the sex of the baby until it is born. I am very impatient to meet baby Klienbaum but I guess I'll have to wait anyway!

David's Farewell

Mary and David, missionary to Spokane, Washington.Danny with his nephew Jacob (Mary's son).
Carol, Kayleen, and Alice caught in a thoughtful moment...
Pretty smile, Amanda!

Several of us got to go see David speak in his ward before he left on his mission last week and we had a tasty get-together afterwards at Janet and Peter's. I wanted to announce here (on behalf of the older generation who have proclaimed themselves non-blog-savvy) that a reunion was planned. We will be having a CW Silver (our Grandpa Silver's dad) reunion on July 26th, 2010 at Mimi's old cabin up Mt. Aire in Salt Lake. It will be a great chance to get to know the other cousins and to see Mimi's cabin again, so please come!

Amanda

Well I had fun at the family reunion spending some time with the cousins and aunts and uncles. But I already uploaded my pictures and wrote a pretty lengthy post on my own blog so I'm going to make you work a little bit and go check it out for yourselves. It's thelastwatson.blogspot.com, enjoy!!!

2011 Family reunion

As we prepared to leave Colter Bay, we made plans for the 2011 Family Reunion in the Washington, D.C. area in early to mid July. I did some research on accommodations. Near College Park and Greenbelt where my houses are, there are high end to middle class hotels and motels ranging from $70 to $180 per room per night. Our co-op in Greenbelt has a guest house (1 king bed, 1 fold away couch, & kitchen) for $55 per night. There is even a secret National Park in Greenbelt (called...wait for it... Greenbelt National Park) offering 174 campsites at $16 per night. We also have a limited number of friends and relatives willing to host a single or couple in their homes.

There are many venues that could host meetings, meals, and get-togethers. The National Archives annex at College Park, the Marriott Inn and Conference Center at University of Maryland University College, other nearby schools and churches, and the Greenbelt National Park campground to name a few.

For Recreation, there is a lot to see in Washington accessible from the Metro which stops in Greenbelt. There is an amusement/water park ( Six Flags ) about 15 miles away. Also, there is an indoor/outdoor pool at our Co-op in Greenbelt.
